Brad Hompe has worked as a prison staff employee, but he has also served as a jail inspector, an instructor and trainer. His expertise comes about because he has seen everything and he has done almost everything there is to do. because of that, he knows what to expect and he understands which strategies work the best.

One reason he is considered such an expert is because of his vast experience. Brad Hompe once led the development and implementation of training and evaluation programs at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), as well as their incident management operations. He even has expertise when it comes to food service, sanitation and maintenance, classification and supervision and even fire safety. There is almost nothing about jail and prison operations that Brad Hompe hasn’t participated in at almost every level. That includes experience in jail and prison planning and design, as well as corrections policy development in areas such as use of force.

These days, Brad Hompe can usually found working at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), where he currently serves as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator. He is seen as an expert these days, primarily because he worked his way up through the ranks, from the position of corrections officer, all the way to deputy warden and, eventually, a warden.
